New Economy Week Happy Hour in Brooklyn

New Economy Week is coming up! October 10 – 19, 2013

There are a lot of great events planned, nationwide, for this week of solidarity, exploration, innovation, and network-building in the New Economy. In New York City, I’m looking forward to the New Economy Film Festival.

To augment the calendar here in NYC, an informal group has come together for happy hour and networking. The event is being “hosted” by a group of like-minded Brooklynites that met at the ReRoute conference, hosted by the New Economy Coalition, this past summer. But when I say “hosted,” I just mean we put it on the NEW calendar. We don’t have any kind of organizational affiliation – just a lot in common. And each one of us is working on a different and interesting part of the New Economy.

We’d like to hear what you’re passionate about, working on, or interested in getting involved in, and to share the same. Join us at:

Soda Bar

629 Vanderbilt Ave, Brooklyn

6-8 pm (happy hour until 7!)

They have a patio (who knows – it could be 70 next week…) and the Recessinator from from local Kelso Beers is $5. How appropriate.

RSVP in the comments or to if you plan to join us!

  1. Would love to attend but I’ll be facilitating a Neighborhood Assembly for the participatory budgeting process in my district. A reminder to all to get involved in PBNYC ( as it kicks off for a third year and blazes a path toward a new economy!

What do you think?
